So it’s been XXX since I started streaming and I just wanted to put a shout out to those that well firstly got me started on this journey and helped me out.
Firstly to my old school mate GeneralKaos who got me really intrigued when he went full time this year – which is a massive milestone to meet, and although I don’t expect to get there it’s always a good to see that it can happen doing something that you really enjoy. I’d also like to really thank the community that GeneralKaos has as well I’ve taken so much inspiration from the group as a whole. I spent quite a lot of time in the first month of streaming just going round the different streams within the community and learnt that there’s a massive diversity in the types of characters and ways to engage the audience from Kaos’s louder than life approach to RomeoG’s 80’s retro themed nights. I also learned so much about the different setups – again they are so diverse, some with cameras straight on, others to the side, some with a greenscreen and some without – there was no one size fits all.
The community was so welcoming and Kaos did a few shout outs for me at the start which really gave me a boost to get going and a few of his followers got me started off on my follower journey – with Kaos himself being my first follower, but also Ilouminati, Stegz and Wulfen following on soon after. I was also a bit surprised when I could just join in games the community was playing – although I don’t really get a lot of the games they play – Among Us being the most confusing for me I did eventually join in with a game of Prop and Seek being the first. That even came with a very amusing moment featuring myself and Granitalia which I now wish I had a clip of! If you’ve not seen Prop and Seek here’s some gameplay;
Having joined RomeoG’s birthday stream most of the week he actually had a mug for each day of the week featuring those that helped him when he started and it’s mostly the same characters all from the same community so we all appreciate the support.
I also got help with the branding of RedRaffles and some useful tips and tricks from a technical perspective – with one of the biggest positives being seeing the clean desks that everyone was streaming from which gave me a massive incentive to clean up my gear and my desk – even working on my cable tidying skills!
